LocationThe Charlotte Mason Soirée Retreat will be held at Parkway Heights Methodist Church at 2420 Hardy Street, Hattiesburg, MS, 39401.
HotelFairfield Inn & Suites of Hattiesburg will be hosting us as the “official hotel” for the Retreat. You do not have to stay at Fairfield if you prefer to stay at another one, but I will tell you that it is so very enjoyable to eat breakfast with other attendees and spend time together in the evening unwinding and discussing all the wonderful ideas you encountered during the sessions. It’s also a great time to exchange notes with those who attended the sessions that you didn’t get to attend! Please use this link to book your room for our special group rate of $89/night. The cutoff for our group’s room block is February 1, 2018. If you want to have an opportunity to meet other attendees before the retreat begins on Friday morning, you could grab some dinner or dessert Thursday evening and gather together with others in the breakfast area/lobby of the hotel. Check out Visit HBURG for some restaurant suggestions. (My favorite restaurant is Tabella!) Or you could buy your ticket for the Thursday night Pre-Retreat Book Sale and get the best pick of books while meeting other attendees! (Be sure to bring an extra suitcase!!) There are a few lodging options from Airbnb as well.

Things to do in town and out of townMarch is a marvelous time of year to visit Hattiesburg, Mississippi! Will you be bringing your husband and children? There are plenty of things to keep them busy! Visit HBURG has several options. Never been to Nola (New Orleans)? It’s about two hours from Hattiesburg. Cafe du Monde is a MUST and there are lots of other suggestions here. And, of course, there’s the Mississippi Gulf Coast just an hour away.
We want to provide you with an uninterrupted opportunity to feed your mind with the nourishing ideas and practical help the speakers will be presenting. In order to achieve this, the Retreat space will not be open to children. Nursing infants will be welcome, and there will even be a private room available just for mothers and babies as they need it!
The Retreat is non-refundable. If you have an emergency and cannot attend, we may be able to transfer your registration to someone else interested in coming. If you know someone who can take your place, you can have them contact us. To make this registration transfer, there will be an administration charge of $25.
There will be times when parts of the Retreat are photographed and/or have small snippets of Facebook live video.
We desire to keep the atmosphere and tone of the Retreat loving and gracious. If you have constructive criticism or an issue with something, please kindly contact one of the members of the Retreat Team and remember to be gentle and kind with your words.
