Welcome to CM Soirée Educator Resources! We encourage all parents to continue their own education and take professional development as an educator seriously. One way we hope to help equip parents and educators is by providing online courses such as this “101” level course, A Proper Introduction.
It will take you through the why behind choosing a Charlotte Mason education, help you establish a solid foundation in some of the core components of the method, guide you in understanding why living books are essential, and elucidate why Mason’s philosophy is the gold standard and why our successes and failures are not the standard.
This self-paced course consists of 5 folders containing a total of 16 assignments. The assignments include podcast episodes, blog articles from trustworthy sources that promote authentic Charlotte Mason, as well as Parents’ Review articles, and each of the assignments will have a required narration.
But don’t let narration scare you! In the Welcome letter of the course, we give some tips on narration that should help you gain some confidence. Give yourself GRACE!
Some assignments may take as little as 20 minutes while a couple of them will probably take more than one hour. They do not have to be completed at one sitting though! Feel free to break it up into chunks throughout the week!
**Note: If you are taking this course as a prerequisite for enrolling in one of our other courses, you’ll want to pace yourself so that you have all of the assignments for A Proper Introduction turned in *before* the start date of the course in which you wish to enroll.
To enroll in this course you will need to go to schoology.com and create a student account using the following Access Code: BKBG2-XPKSR
Schoology can be used in a variety of ways. Some of the beta testers prefer using their computer while others prefer using their phone or tablet via the mobile site or the Schoology App.
The next couple of courses in the pipeline are A Walk Through the Early Years, Digging Deeper, and Society Leadership Training (open to anyone wanting training in leading a group whether or not it is a Soirée Society).
These courses are anticipated to launch in either January or February 2018, so if you want to enroll in one of them, get your assignments completed for A Proper Introduction!
