Happy Fall! It’s probably been feeling like fall where most of you are, but for us here in south Mississippi, it is finally becoming pleasant.
Let’s dig in to this edition of The Dispatch and if you need to take it in small chunks, do that!
Do y’all use a Bible Atlas occasionally for your Bible lessons or during your own personal study time? Just this year we have implemented doing this in both of those areas, and it’s made such a difference in the depth of our understanding. We like this atlas for Bible lessons with my young children, and I like this one for my own personal Bible study time.
Last time we linked the ADE podcast episode on Elementary Math, so let’s continue in that way with the episode on Middle & High School Math Part 1. Math seems to be the last frontier for most people implementing a Charlotte Mason education. It was for me, but I’m SO glad we took the plunge. I trusted the method with all other areas, so it just made sense to trust it here, too!
If you have been around the Charlotte Mason community for any length of time, then you’ve probably heard of the “Great Recognition”. When I first heard about it, I had no clue what they were talking about and wrote it off as something I probably wouldn’t be interested in learning about. Boy was I wrong!! Use this link to see the pictures while you read Chapter 25 of Volume Two, Parents and Children. Then come back and comment and tell me what you learned!
This month my local reading group will begin reading Volume Two, Parents and Children, and the assignment is to read the Introduction through Chapter 3. If you don’t have a local Reading Group, would you read along with us? We will discuss the reading under The Dispatch post over in the Facebook group.
Speaking of Reading Groups, we are hoping to launch online groups very soon!
